Our pieces

Are your items authentic?

Yes. Every piece is authenticated in-house before it is listed, and nothing goes on sale unless we are fully confident in it. Our Authenticity Guarantee covers you for as long as you own the piece: in the unlikely event that an item is ever shown not to be authentic, we refund you in full, including shipping both ways.

How do you authenticate your items?

Each item is examined against the details that matter: construction, hardware, stitching, date codes and serial numbers, materials and finishing, compared against known references for its house and era. The work is carried out by our in-house authenticator, with years of experience across the most renowned fashion houses and a particular focus on rare designer pieces from the 1990s and early 2000s.

Do you provide a certificate of authenticity?

We do not issue a certificate with each order. Authentication is carried out in-house and is covered by our Authenticity Guarantee.

If you would like independent certification, we are happy to provide photographs to a third-party authenticator so you can arrange one at your own expense. Items bought through our Vestiaire Collective store are also physically checked by their authenticators, which adds a second layer of verification.

What condition are your items in?

Our items are pre-owned and vintage, so they may show signs of previous use. We describe the condition of each piece honestly and photograph it in-house, so the photographs form part of the description. Variations in tone, patina and grain are natural features of age and are part of the character of the piece.

What do your condition grades mean?

Every piece carries a grade, shown on a scale on its product page.

Good Visible wear throughout, fully functional.
Very Good Light to moderate signs of use.
Excellent Minimal, barely noticeable signs of wear.
Pristine Like new, little to no sign of use.
New Brand new and unused.

The grade sits alongside a written description of the piece and its photographs. Read all three together.

Are the photographs of the actual item?

Yes. Every piece is photographed in-house, so the photographs show the exact item you will receive rather than a stock image. They form part of the description, which is why we photograph signs of wear rather than hiding them.

What is included with my order?

Whatever is described in the listing. Where an original dust bag, box or authenticity card is included, it is named in the description. If it is not mentioned there, it is not included.

Are measurements listed?

Measurements are given in the description of each piece. If you need a dimension that is not shown, email hello@rediscovervintage.com and we will measure it for you.

Where do your pieces come from?

We source selectively from trusted channels and private sellers, favouring the rare designer pieces and eras we know best: Tom Ford-era Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, Phoebe Philo and Hannah MacGibbon-era Chloé, Miuccia Prada-era Prada and Miu Miu, along with Marc Jacobs, Coach, Céline and Dior by John Galliano. Nothing is listed until it has passed our checks.

Pricing and payment

Do you accept offers?

Yes, we accept offers on all items on our website. Send your offer to hello@rediscovervintage.com or use the live chat.

Why do your prices differ from the original retail price?

Our prices reflect the second-hand market rather than the original retail price. Rarity, condition, the house and the era all play a part. Pieces that are no longer produced and hard to find can sit above their original price, while others sit well below it.

Do your prices include VAT?

The price shown on the product page is the price you pay for the item. Nothing is added at checkout except delivery, which is shown separately before you confirm.

If you are in the European Union, the price includes VAT at the applicable rate.

If you are outside the European Union, no French or EU VAT is charged on your order. The price you see is still the price you pay.

Will I have to pay customs or import duties?

Within the European Union, no. All applicable taxes are included and there is nothing further to pay on delivery.

Outside the European Union, customs charges are never included in our prices. Your country may apply import duty, local sales tax or VAT on arrival, and the carrier may add a handling fee. These are set by your own customs authority, not by us, and are paid by you, usually to the carrier before delivery.

We cannot calculate these in advance, as they depend on your country and the value of the order, and we cannot declare a parcel as a gift or state a lower value than the price paid. Your national customs website is the reliable source. See Shipping & Returns.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay, along with local methods such as iDEAL and Bancontact where they are available in your country. Klarna and PayPal also let you spread the cost over several payments.

Every payment is processed through a secure, encrypted provider. We never see or store your full card details.

Can I pay in instalments?

Yes. Klarna and PayPal both offer the option to split your payment into several instalments. Select either at checkout and follow the steps shown there.

Availability and the number of instalments depend on your country and on the order total, so the exact options appear once you reach checkout. Your order ships on our normal timeline.

Orders and delivery

When will my order ship?

Orders are typically dispatched within 48 working hours of purchase. Once your order ships you receive a tracking number by email. Full detail is on our Shipping & Returns page.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes, we ship worldwide. Within France and Europe we ship with Colissimo (La Poste), and for most international destinations we use DHL Express. Every parcel is tracked and insured.

What happens if the item I ordered has already sold?

Almost every piece we sell is one of a kind, and our stock is listed on more than one platform. Occasionally an item sells elsewhere before the listing updates. If that happens we will contact you straight away and refund you in full.

Returns

Can I return an item?

Yes, within 14 days of delivery, without giving a reason. Email hello@rediscovervintage.com to start a return, then send the item back within 14 days of telling us. Full conditions are on our Shipping & Returns page.

Do you offer exchanges?

No. As most pieces are one of a kind, we recommend ordering the piece you want while it is in stock and returning the item you no longer wish to keep.

Anything else

How should I look after a vintage piece?

Gentle, regular care matters more than anything, and it differs by material. Our Care Guide covers leather, suede, canvas, hardware and storage. If you would like advice on a specific item, email us and we will be glad to help.

Do you have a physical store?

We do not have a physical store at the moment, but a visit or meet-up can sometimes be arranged. Email hello@rediscovervintage.com for more information.
